1ST EDITION – February 2017
February 2017, in Trieste
Rosy Russo launched an appeal on the Internet early in October 2016: “Can we work together to establish a set of principles to help everyone communicate in a more responsible and civilized way online?”
Responses came from 300 bloggers, influencers and professional communicators, far more than expected. They sent comments and suggestions. An initial set of principles for ethical communication was generated from this impressive collective endeavour. The online community’s ten favoured principles were incorporated in the Manifesto of Non-Hostile Communication.
What happened on social media
The principles of the Manifesto, voted by the Internet for the Internet, were presented and signed by the Italian singer Gianni Morandi before an audience of more than 1200 people, including numerous journalists, influencers, communicators, teachers and entrepreneurs.
9 different thematic meetings followed that moment.
